Welcome to my kitchen
Hi, I’m Lori.
Simple ingredients. Good food. A little inspiration for your table.
Welcome to Lori’s Food Obsession! I’m a home cook who wants to help you put a good meal on the table with ingredients you know and enjoy. Vegetables, fruit, beans, grains, meat, eggs, and everyday pantry staples are a good place to begin.
If you’ve ever opened the refrigerator and wondered, “What can I make with this?” you’re in the right place. I share approachable dinners, homemade sauces and sides, and breads and treats worth making. My goal is to help you cook a little more, use what you have, and enjoy the food you make.
How I like to cook
Good food, one small step at a time
A few ideas you’ll find throughout my kitchen.
Start with the ingredients
Build a meal around vegetables, beans, grains, and a protein you enjoy. Fresh produce is wonderful; frozen vegetables and canned beans can help a busy-night dinner come together, too.
Make something yourself
Try a simple dip, a sauce, or a loaf of bread when you have the time. Each small recipe gives you another way to bring flavor to the table.
Make it fit real life
Use practical shortcuts, keep a few fresh toppings ready, and plan how to enjoy the leftovers. There’s room here for comforting favorites and something sweet.
You don’t need to change everything at once. Pick a recipe that sounds good, add a vegetable you enjoy, and build from there.
Pull up a chair
Not sure where to start?
Try a comforting dinner, a cozy soup, or something sweet.

Beef Stew
For a slow afternoon: beef, potatoes, and carrots simmered into a comforting dinner.

Easy Apple Crisp
For something sweet: cinnamon apples with a buttery oat topping, baked in a 9×13 pan.
